Vak
2014-2015

Description

In this seminar, students learn how to analyze processes of European integration, including patterns of decision-making in the European Union (EU). The seminar explores a range of recent work on European integration and decision-making. It discusses the application of major theoretical approaches to different areas of EU policy-making and studies recent institutional developments in the EU, including results of the European Convention, negotiations on the European Constitution, and changes due to the Lisbon Treaty. Students also read articles on the democratic foundations of the EU and work that explicitly tests different theoretical insights on the basis of empirical data.
