Description

The astronomy research project is one of the most important parts of the BSc programme, and takes up almost half of the third year. Students choose their project in the period September-December. Between January and June, the students — alone or in groups of two — join one of the research groups at the department and carry out their project. Projects can involve analysis of new observations, calculating models for astrophysical processes, or a combination of the two. Lab work in astrochemistry or optical instrumentation is also possible. During this period. students get a desk and computer at the Observatory, and attend regular progress meetings. The project is concluded with a scientific report and a final presentation.
