Electives are courses which address topics that are not covered by the normal curriculum. Different topics are provided, both in the field of ICT and business. Each student will complete three elective courses. Students can choose the topics themselves, based on their individual preferences.
In addition to electives, students will also choose a concentration course, an extra 6 EC elective which should be chosen in relation to their M.Sc. thesis topic to deepen their knowledge in the area of their thesis research. This course can be chosen freely from all master level courses at LIACS or elsewhere in Leiden or outside Leiden, provided students meet the prerequisites of the course, the course fits their thesis research and the course has no overlap with other course from the curriculum. An explicit OK both from the thesis supervisor and the programme director is needed prior to enrolling in the course.
