Description
Students examine the expressive and applicatory possibilities of painting techniques. They will gain basic knowledge and insight into painting techniques and in the application of colours.
The students will furthermore learn to use images on a formal as well as on a content level; they will learn to organise the working process and they will gain practical and technical skills. Attention will be paid to they theory and application of colour, line, contrast, tone values, and also to expressive possibilities such as representation, expression, technical possibilities of different varieties of paint, different tools used for painting, and the study of perceptive forms.
Course objectives
Classes are primarily intended to learn and understand about visual language; technical skills will be taught for those who have need of it. Lessons will focus on image development and the intensiffying of the the perception. The course consists of several modules, in which a specific theme or vision will be studied. Objectives are learning to consciously apply visual elements and the development of an own visual language.
Schedule
Entrance exams: Wednesday 10 September 2014, from 13.30 hrs.
Lessons: Mondays from 19.00 till 21.30 hrs.
Period: 15 September 2014 till 19 January 2015. No lessons in holiday periods (20 October 2014 thru 24 October 2014 and 22 December 2014 thru 2 January 2015)
Location: KABK, Prinsessegracht 4, Den Haag.

Practical lessons with individual guidance and group meetings.

Individual assesment of work at the end of the course
Literature
